Its time for new tires and I need some advice. I've been looking into the LTX or the Dura Grappler. I want 285/75/16 (LTX or Dura Grappler) or 305/70/16 (Dura only). I have had a set of the LTX in the past but they were on a tahoe. I couldn't ask for a better longevity and ride quality. The only thing is they are D-rated and have a max load of 3307 while the dura grappler is E-rated and has a max load of 3527.

Which one is best for my 2500 4x4? How do these tires compare and is the E-rated tire manditory for my truck?

BTW, I have a set of 305/70/16 Mastercraft Courser on right now that are 2-ply D-rated w/ max psi of 50. If I tow ANYTHING they truck bounces all over the road and feels VERY unsafe...

The Mich LTX on my truck are load range E. Different size though.

I have a set of nittos and they have worn down really fast.

Are they Dura Grapplers? I was thinking these were suppose to last 50-60K?

In my opinion, there is absolutely no better tire then a Michelin! There really isnt even a close second to me! If you do buy another brand see where they are made. I dont think I would trust my life with anything made in China! Even tires of the same brand and model can come from China. I have on my 4Star horse trailer Goodyear Marathons. One of the four is made in China (which I later found out after airing up the tires) or I would have never bought it!

michelin's will last longer, but i have the nitto's 285's E-rated right now with only 1000 miles and they are the smoothest tires i have ever had.

Another vote for Michelins.I have ran both and currently have the durra's.They are holding up good but nowhere close to what the Mich's did.

I have Michellins on all three of my trucks. they are the longest lasting tire I have ever had. I wish they made a good allterain tire that lasted as long.

There Terra Grapplers. Mine won't make 30k and I know other people who had the same problem. Don't know about the Durra Grapplers they may last longer.

I would say michelins suck from my personal experience. I've got Pathfinder A/T's on mine and that's what will be on there for a while.
