Melted piston an ongoing problem before I bought the truck HELP!

Last year, I bought an 06 Mega Cab. When I bought it, it had a white smoke problem when cold. The dealer basically said it would be taken care of under warranty. Well that was many miles ago. After 8 trips and 12 new injectors while under warranty, they decided to call in a so called master technician who waved a wand and blamed it on bad fuel. My problem is, I was able to get a hold of the VIP report on the truck and found out this truck is on its 3rd short block. The last one had under 1400 miles when I bought it. They never replaced injectors any time. This time, they decided to pull the head and found a melted #6 piston. My claim is the truck was that way when I bought it, he says it was caused by dirty fuel (COP OUT) after the fact. There is no way this was fixed correctly when it was fixed last. He blames it on a bad injector that was NEVER changed. No i HAVE a truck in pieces that they will not warranty. Is it even worth trying to call Chrysler Customer service and talk to an Indian or should I take it up the shoot? Also is there any other contact info anyone has to go higher up in chrsyler?

ouch that sucks. I would want proof of bad fuel nit just his say so. Then I would get all the paperwork for past repairs and get an lawyer involved if they refuse to warent it. If it had 3 short blocks before you got it and it was smoking when you got it the problem was prexisting and the original techs never found the root cause of the problem, they just kept replacing parts(short blocks) and the root cause of the problem (likely injector) was transfered from one engine to anouther destroying each along the way. Either way I would be contacting a lawyer now not latter.

Yes. Lawyer now!! Take all info you have and I am sure a simple letter from the lawyer will get things moving pretty quick.

Ask to see the results of the fuel analysis. I would also not rule out having an independent company do another analysis on your dime. It may be worth your trouble.

Good luck with your claim, and from my experience don't bother with the arbitration if you're going for the lemon law on it. Get a lawyer.
I had an '01 1500 Ram Off Road (4.10 gears). Went through 3 rear axles in the first 5,000 mi. Get so hot it would cook the oil, melt teh speedo sensor. Something was seriously wrong with the ring and pinion setups on the 4.10 gearset (that they only brought back for 1 year in the 9.25" corporae axles, wonder why?) Left me sitting on the side of the road in BFE twice with my trailer.
After the 3rd complete replacement (drop in a whole new rear axle, brakes and all), I went to arbitration because that axle was getting really hot too.
They told me to pound sand, and that my truck wasn't rated to tow such a big trailer (3,500# empty, never had more than 2,000# load while hooked to this truck), that was the cause of the failures, I needed a 3/4 ton diesel if I intended to tow that much, it was abuse, don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya, bye!
I showed them where the truck was rated to tow 8,500#, or something close to that. Didn't matter. Luckily the dlr that replaced the 2nd axle gave me a 100k mi extended warranty, for my troubles (Thank you!) and turned out the last axle cooled down over time after it broke in and I never had more problems.
Sorry I got off topic, but that was one of the most dis honest arrangements I've seen!

off topic, but relative to post #6.

I sent in a sample of the Mopar fluid when I change my fluid out at 5K miles, it had expended it's value, had NO functional visconsity.



relative to topic.

I would be sending in a fuel sample to Blackstone, get an independent opinion, every independent professional opinion you can get to back your continued problems will serve to buty them. Get a Layyer, go the right route to get results. Usually when companies see you seeking legal help, they get much more amicable.
