Question MegaCab longbed

I was going through the thread that people were posting pics of the lifted megacabs and someone posted some MegaCab longbed pics. I sure do like the looks of those. Now what I am wondering is, How much does it cost to do the conversion? How much longer does it make the truck, or how much longer is it than a quad cab long bed? Does it do anything to the warranty? If I did it, I might have the only one in the Texas Panhandle.

Thanks,
Dave

It makes it about 20 inches longer, some of the companies that do the work do warranty the stretch, though I am not sure DC is going to support any warranty work. They cost about $5000 for the kit and there is a place down there in Texas that has been doing the stretches for about 2 years now. The biggest issue I have is that you gain all that bed but nothing technically allows for an increase in the GVWR so technically you are even further limited to how much weight you can put in the bed... And I am waiting for some long-term high mileage results on how the long boxes are holding up...

There is an rv hauler I have seen in Indiana and he has over 250k on his Mega longbed.

Awesome,

I really wanted to get this but was waiting to hear some results. Because they cut and re-weld the frame I was wondering if anyone was having premature failures, or with the extended driveline if they were having vib issues, etc. thanks for the input.

In order to do this kind of work, the company really needs to know their stuff.
All are good at what they do. I had my longbed mega dually done at Innovation customs...closest place to me. I got a DOT certified inspection certificate with the work. I recall the engineer saying that with the way the frame is stretched, it actually stiffens it up more and I would not be surprised if that also means it is strengthened too. Well worth it in my opinion.

Matt, that MC LB looks sweet! Now if I could only afford the $50,000 dollar Resistol hat (truck included) and get that (the truck not the hat) stretched into a long bed I'd be a happy camper.

There's also a place in Ft. Wayne, Indiana called Sellers, Inc. that does Megacab Longbed conversions, but you have to supply your own pickup bed for them to do the conversion. I hope these links help you out.
