This isnt exactly what you're looking for but it gives you an idea. This is 10" and 40's. With the right wheels, 8" will be enough for 38's. This isnt my truck.

thinking you will get a bunch of replies like this, but...
you can run 37s from stock on up. Depending on what you want to do with the wheel well openings, mega cab or not.
I run 37s with 3" front and a bit in the rear.
A friend runs 37s with a 6" lift. Too much for my taste.

I prefer 4.5" lift/37s like Boz007s...
Right now I have a 4.5" lift and 325 Toyos, but next time I need tires, ill go with 37s, it just looks right imo...
Personally, I wouldnt really ever go bigger than 37s, besides the cost on tires and lift to clear then, the extra inch of tire isnt gaining any performance, just my .02
