mbrp exhaust

Going to vegas and I want to buy 4inch mbrp system from dtr store for $249. Will it make truck tons louder than my stock system or mildly louder? Herb

Herb,
I think you might like the sound. It will be louder but not unbearable. Should be ok in the cab but loud outside.

It'll be louder outside. Inside not much different. However, at 2000 rpms, when you're cruising on the hwy, there is drone. I can't stand it.

Just put mine on last week (now, I already had a 4" stainless steel Gibson cat-back on it before the turbo-back MBRP.) It's not noticeably different than it was with the Gibson. Either way, it's slightly louder than stock, but not obnoxious. Turbo whine is the highway drone I think people are referring to, and I love it! You don't hear it at idle, and even if you bring the RPMs up while not moving, you still don't hear it. It's only on the road. But for $250, you can't beat it.

With the muffler on, its still very quiet inside the cab. At idle, its very quiet by the tail pipe too. Just make sure the downpipe doesn't touch the frame coming off the turbo. I had that issue on my dually, even with a muffler, was extremely loud in the cab. I made sure that wasn't an issue on the 3/4 ton, and its very nice.

the 'drone' has nothing to do with noise from the turbo

its the ex freq inside the pipe

neither of my trucks had it once i went to large ex but i guess some do

good luck with your ex sys

hope you like it

Herb,
If you find you get a drone you don't want to put up with, install the resonator off your old system and problem should go away.

they also have that cheesy deal that redirects the ex flow

dont know if it really makes the drone go away but they claim it does

claim a bunch of stuff, better mpg, more power, etc

i dont see how it would tho...

its just a pc of honeycomb shaped stainless

good luck
