Maximum Turbo RPM

How many RPM will a turbo spin before blowing to pieces?

When you hear the loudest whistle, how many RPM is the turbo spinning?

Approx numbers would be a fine answer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thats a really hard question to awnser with any sort of accuracy, boost and EGT's would be a better way of knowing when your turbo is getting taxed out. Theirs really no set rpm for it going out.

Typical turbocharger RPM is between 10,000-15,000 RPM at low engine speed and up to around 60,000-100,000 RPM at full engine speed.

I've read somewhere that 120K is not unheard of though.
