Max tire size for OEM the spare tire holder ???

Just like the title says, What is the maximum tire size that you can put under the truck bed on OEM the spare tire holder. My truck didn't have a spare when I bought it and I need to find one. I'm hopping I can fit a 33" under there since thats what is on the truck.

That's an awesome question! I have 33's, but the stock 265 for a spare. It would mess the rear end somethin fierce if I were to have to use it.

I know that a 35 will not fit, it was very close but no cigar. I imagine a 33 might just squeek in there, but you would have to also take into account the tailpipe, even on my truck with a 235 spare it `s real close to the tailpipe.

33 or 295x70 WILL FIT and my 2006 truck looks as if a 35 would fit as well....I have a 33 hanging on mine now. I think different years would make a difference definately...

Just wanted to update this thread....

Yes, a 33" spare tire will fit under the bed with OEM exhaust. The only difficulty I had was working around a aftermarket hitch which was making it difficult to get the tire up there securely. Finally I just welded a spacer onto the tire holder and that worked.
