What is max size tires for my 96

I'm looking to put new tires on my 96 and would like to know what is the biggest I can go without spacers for back duals. I want a meatier look for my truck. I have LT235/85r/16 BFG All Terrains on it now.

From what I understand, you are at about the maximum size now. Especially if you are towing.

Not really. You can put a 33" tall tire on without a lift. I have 33x12.50's that I run spring-fall and 285/75/16's that I run in the winter. The 285's basically equate to a 33" tall tire. If you use the size calculator in the link below, you will be able to get a pretty good idea of whether or not a tire will fit.

Hey Cowboy, what about a Toyo M55 in 255/85/16. Measures 33.3" tall and 10.4 inches wide. Not sure if thats too wide for the dually, but worth looking into, lots of guys speak well of that tire, Im considering it myself as my next tire.

I have really been thinking of going to the 285/75, as I have a set, my 235's are getting worn. Local tire guy says they will rub, has anyone blown a tire because of sidewall rub?
