I have a 2004.5 dodge and just added an Edge Juice with attitude. I am curious as to what horsepower is safe to run with a stock fuel pump. I plan on adding a fuel pressure gauge within the next two weeks, but would like to know what horse power will be safe to run until I get my gauge installed. The chip has a 24, 40, 60, 80, and 100 hp settings.

Edit: It is a 25hp setting not 24 hp setting. It is the mileage setting on the edge juice.

What horse power setting have you been using. Can I safely run on the extreme setting that is pushing 100hp with 250 ft-lb. I am assuming that is not at the rear wheels, but it is still a lot of hp added for stock truck.

Are you talking about the stock lift pump or injection pump? Assuming the lift pump, you can make as much power as you want, as long as it is keeping up. And, if you have a gauge, you can monitor it. But, the lift pump is not the pump that makes power, it is the injection pump. The LP keeps the IP fed, and as long as that happens, you are good to go for any and all of the settings you are talking about.

I am talking about the stock LP keeping up with the stock injection pump. I don't want to starve my injection pump and burn it up. I would rather replace a lift pump then have to replace an injection pump. They are a little bit more expensive. What kind of horse power is the stock injection pump good for? Or is it good for a bunch of horsepower as long as the LP keeps up.

Sorry, it is a 25hp setting. It is the mileage setting on the Edge Juice. I hit the wrong key.

you can get by with the lower hp settings on a stock lp,but if you want to crank it up an get the most from the higher hp settings a better lp is highly advised.

What kind of LP is suggested? I have heard a bunch of different suggestions. Not sure how much of it is subjective the the person. Of course there is always the FASS, kind of hard on the pocket book, and then there is the homemade jobs, that are sometimes questionable. I guess one thing I need to do is get my FP gauge installed to verify if I need a bigger LP before I jump to conclusions

Yep but not to say you cant lay down with some good power with that stock lp. The edge juice is not requiring enough fuel by itself stack it with a programer and your walking a thin line, and you will definetaly need a aftermarket pump with some stixs.

Walbro from Glacier is wht I am running. Stays at 17-20PSI from idle to WOT, won't waver from that at all

It is the pressure box that suck the fuel. It not just how much hp but the way it makes power. With a 2004.5 you need more fuel.

Pumps: ok is a procomp blue
better holley blue: same as the procomp, but the procomp is a knockoff. DO a search on DTR holley blue.

My stock L/P would pull down to 7-8 psi on the hot setting. The MP-8 is what pulls it down. mp-8 on 50% and edge on 4 would pull it down to 0-1 psi. The Walbro will go from 21 psi to 18 psi with all set to kill.
