Well we were outside cleaning out the shed and my stock cat back exhaust system was evicted.

Is there any need for this for anyone?

It was on the truck for about a month.

Peace

Yes I pulled the cam in my block, but it was upside down and did not have to worry about the tappets.

Good to hear that the silver bullet will be rebuilt, let me know when we start, I will be able to give you a hand once I am moved in, until then I have to get done remodeling it.

Ok guys, I'm missing from the Cave my wire strippers and 2 small yellow handle screw drivers. Who ever left by accident with them in their pockets i would like to get them back ASAP. thanks
Remember if you come over to use the lift or air compressor there is a $20 charge or 5 gallons of gas for the generator use.

We are gonna need some help getting the apartment ready for Travis. If you can lay carpet, stick on tile or do sheet rock we need your help. Only have 2 weeks to get it done and start moving Travis in.

I am not very good (no experience) at any of the above, but if I am off when stuff is being done I am willing to at least help in any way I can. Shoot me any email or whatever if there is anything that I can help with.

Heck if staying out of the way helps I can do that too. J/K [coffee]

The TC controller Rocked!!!!!!

I pulled the Toyota to Rausch Creek this past weekend and stayed at the Comfort Inn. This put me at the bottom of the two mile hill to get to RC. I had to pull the hill twice, Saturday morning and Sunday morning.. The trans never saw more than 180 degrees the whole way to Rausch Creek including that hill climb. And most of the time it was sitting at 150* or less.
I am stocked.. It worked great and kept the temps down nicely.. Last time I tried that hill, I was in my 99 gasser and the trans made it to the top of the hill after the exit and died right there. Nothing but reverse.....[laugh][laugh]
That controller really works...
I would recommend some type of TC controller for anyone doing any towing at all.....

Had a d-bag customize my front end yesterday at the key bridge toll plaza yesterday... the truck in front of him stalled so he throws his f-550 in reverse, not knowing whats behind him. Needless to say, he pushed my bumper into my a/c and tranny cooler, that into my intercooler, intercooler into the radiator and radiator into the fan which scraped pinholes into the radiator core. Add that to a new hood and paint blending.... 7 GRAND!!! holy poop! ill keep you guys updated.

BigErksG2

the guy was driving a work truck so it is going through the company's insurance he admitted fault but the company is giving me the runaround. "I need to talk to the owner", "Im waiting to hear back from the insurance company", "they can send an adjuster out NEXT tuesday" and everything else you can think of. They have never called me once to give me information, i always call them, very unprofessional in my opinion considering it was their employee's fault and they think its ok for me to have nothing to drive for the next week and a half, thats just to get an adjuster to come out and tell me information i already know. For what its worth Priceless Industries is a list of explicit words that i cannot say on here, dont give them the time of day. Sorry for rambling but this is really bothering me, i could punch their CEO right in the face for hiring such waterheads.

scottsjeeprolet
05-16-2008, 09:11 PM
Eric just let your insurance company work for you. You shouldn't be contacting them. Heck your going into the business.
Go and get your own estimate at anywhere you want. It's the MD law that you can have your truck repaired any where you want. Cliffs high tech is approved by most insurance company's. They did my truck and Travis's truck, top notch work too.

For the summer at least. Boating season is officially open, I spent 14 hours yesterday cleaning and primping "SEA:\>DRIVE" so I could abuse her all summer long, and I'm beginning today with her shake down cruise! Yes I'm as anal about my boat as my truck so she looks great! Weekends were made for relaxing and that is what I'll be doing (well one day each weekend at least).

Now comes the tough part: which do I clean up the boat or the truck? Hmmmmm [duhhh]

crabbelle

BOAT! cleaning it after every use makes it look new all the time. believe me we clean the ship everyweek PPP (prep prime paint) evening the engines and bilges. If you want a coast guard inspection, tell me and i can you get setup with a (golden ticket) after a clean inspection, so weekend ruiners wont bother you.

Whens the next wrenchin day...I've gotta get this fluidampr on and if I go with the electric fan that's another item, but I may just return that...if anyone wants a brand new (still in the box never opened) flexalite electric fan setup for 2nd gen '94 - '02 please let me know...I'll give a good deal/first dibs for local sale & our chapter folks.

Chris and others who may be interested in these times of outrageous diesel fuel costs, I am putting out a feeler on my new flexalite fan kit. The vendor is Summit Racing and it's brand new. It came and is sitting in an unopened box in my office...part number is FLX-262 and it's supposed to reduce 3-4 mpg. Even though I use my truck a few times a week, my truck is not my daily driver so I don't need it anymore. It was $550 plus additional cost for shipping. I would send it back but then I have to pay the shipping again plus pay an additional 10% restocking fee which is why I'd rather sell it locally. Please make me a reasonable offer, ...I can bring it up to a wrinchin day at Scott's to diliver it...please PM me with questions or offers if interested.

bob, i would launch in 2nd. heres how i launch turbo charged manuals, right foot on the brake pretty hard with the left side of your foot and the right side of your right foot on the accelerator and pivot off the brake to feather the accelerator. left foot does clutch only. once all the stage lights are lit hard on the brake and feather the clutch and accelerator to build boost and once the christmas tree is lit, off the brake pedal to the floor and FEATHER THE CLUTCH OUT! the worst thing to see is someone getting everything right and dumping the clutch and loosing rpm, boost and POWER. remember if you practice on the street you will spin ALOT easier than on the track. let me know when you wanna go up there, ill run the R1... shootin for mid 10's. i need a night off work neway.

Scotte,
My Raptor is at the cave still, you can borrow it if you need it.

Well the Holley id DOA. So i bypassed it and am running on the stock LP. 13psi idle. Got to wait for Travis to get home so i can go get it.
so i"m looking at either the Airdog or Fass. Which ever is cheapest.

We got it home safe and sound, now the decision just needs to be made what to spend the $$$ on.

AirDog, those are some stand up guys in my eyes. No doubt in my mind.

Put in another vote for Airdog, they were extremely nice to deal with.

Well Lary Ellis turned me on to an ad in the classifieds last night. Brand new Airdog150 in box $400. I bought it.
so when i get it I'll be putting it on.
Well i temporarily fixed my truck last night. Just bypassed the Holley with a 3/8" coupling. The stock LP would not pull through the Holley, now i have a steady 13 psi idle and about 9 wot. It'll get me by til the Ad gets here.

Dang Scotte you like talking to yourself?

Dang it has been quite around these parts lately. What has everyone been up to? I know it is nice out and all but doesn't anyone veg out in front of the puter anymore?

One of the guys that just started working for one of our subcontractors has a 04.5 3500 DRW that is ready to meet us all and have a good time, I will mention something to him about us going to the buck this weekend and see if he wants to meet up with the gang.

I'm here but it is summer, all I do is go boating. I still need to install my Raptor though...and since I got some cool gift cards for my b-day I bought some detail stuff, and a line of fire/ice for the truck. So I've got some work to do. Also ordered a new HU with built in NAV, and a HD for music, plus DVD so I'll be dedicating some time to the truck sometime soon.

HD=hard drive my new HU has a 40GbHD, 16Gb is for NAV and the rest is for MP3s no HD radio for me, I'd rather hear what I want to hear, not what someone else wants me to hear.

does anybody know why a clutch would slip on take off? it makes the truck shutter, very disappointing since it has less than 10K miles. it started after i tried doing a burn out (on wet pavement).

meangreen96
06-20-2008, 09:01 PM
You might have glazed the clutch. That would cause it stutter and possibly slip.
