I bought a water meth kit and I have top hook it up the the map sensor output wire that is supposed to put out 5v. I do not know what wire this is. This is for a 2003 dodge and any help would be appricated.

On my 04 it was the wire furthest from the head in the map sensor wire pack, I don't have a camera otherwise I would take a pic.

Do you have a test light or a multimeter? If you do, unplug the plug to the MAP turn the key on, just don't start the truck. Then touch each of the metal blades inside the plug. It's pretty easy to do.

the multimeter doesnt help here, the directions say .5 volts with key on, but it actually reads like 1.2, so I had to do the trial and error to figure out which one to actually use. I will go look at my truck and see what color the wire is.

edit: it is the solid green wire, and when looking at the connection from the front of the truck, it is the far right wire.

.5 volts? WOW. When I worked on mine (I know, I know I have a 2nd gen) I found the proper ones first using a test light and then confirmed with a multimeter. I did have one wire at 5 volts and two with nothing. When I plugged the sensor back in, I fired up the motor and retested. The same wire had 5 volts, one of the others start to go up to 1 to 2 volts when the motor was revved up, which is the return signal. And of course the other didn't have any volts at all. It was the ground.

Intresting that yours only showed .5 volts. Different motors, different years.
