It makes it kind of hard to compare them all, Les, as there seems to be little info on Fletcher's cams. He does have a good reputation though.

I don't know about F1, but you can also get custom grinds from Greg and Zach and Fletcher that will drop in as well that can tailor to an individual's setup and needs.

With only a little empirical evidence, only a little bit of layman's knowledge on how the cams work for diesels, and no knowledge at all on Fletcher's cam, I'd say it is a toss up between Hamilton and Maxxspool for "biggest drop in cam". Now that is not a slight on the F1 cam either. Don has his own philosophy on how to do it, and it is obviously successful. But, in my opinion, it is not quite as "big" as the other two. (When I say this, I refer to the Helix 2; he also makes a Helix 3 that is really "big" and I don't know if that is drop in or not) For a purely rough comparison based on my own subjective observation, I think the F1 compares fairly to a Maxxspool 2.0 in that it is not as much a "high end" cam, but bridges the low end better than the "big" cams. That said, they all use slightly different approaches to achieve similar results. I am really disappointed that the cam shootout that Diesel Nut was trying to put together didn't work out... he really was striving to get something as apples to apples as could have been possible, but a couple of the vendors didn't want to play thinking there was a fix in the works. Well, some testing was managed and still more stuff is happening, but without that "same truck, same dyno, same settings", the evidence is purely anecodotal and can't really be shared as anything that is worth a hill of beans.

Now of course for all the readers out there, the "biggest" cam doesn't mean that is the best for you. Like everything in life, there are compromises. That "big" cam often shifts the powerband from low end to upper end meaning it is possible you lose a little spool or lose a little low end torque or something else... of course there are grinders tricks to help not lose as much, but is ususally at the expense of something else. In all, an aftermarket cam can help, especially on the 04.5 and up and dependent on what cam grind you get matches your goals, but is not a panacea for all that ails. For a lot of the readers a good old PDR "towing" cam makes the most sense.

All that is just my humble opinion... please don't start any flaming wars. Anyone can go to comp D and see any number of cam threads with a lot of name calling and little info.
