Magnets in differentials:
I opened up my front diff yesterday while changing the oil on my Ram. I noticed some metal (moly) on it, no shavings. Should i return to the ******* or ? ??? :

If it is like a metalic paste, probably normal. If you can see particles of metal, I'd take it in. Of course they are going to say it's normal no matter what.

If the magnet is fuzzy or covered with a paste it's fine. Some wear metal particles are normal from break in. Same thing with magnet oil drain plugs, although I haven't seen many here with those.

The greyish paste that was on the tip of the diff magnets does not seem to be anything to worry about I gather.Seems that this is normal.
