I think a Mega-Long bed would be very helpful in being able to keep a bed
box in the back and still load up the dirtbike and being able to close the
tail-gate.

My '06 already doesn't fit in my garage and parking in the furthest spot out
is not an issue. But if it would have been an option that year, I definitely
would have bought it

When I traded in my Crewcab long bed GMC I opted for the extra room of the Megacab. LOVE the room but hate the shortbed on at least a weekly basis. Anything from safely hauling plywood, sheetrock, or longer loads became a huge issue. Even packing the bed with camping gear for me and the family became an issue. With a long bed I could get it all in one layer and not worry about it blowing out. With the shortbed on the mega I had to pile it up and put straps or a cargo net over it... If I could afford it I'd gladly pay $6000 to one of the two companies here that stretch them and put 8' beds on them.

I plan to buy a Mega next year, I then will get the long bed conversion..

I would like to see them with different options than the standard bed, like western hauler, or utility box.

I plan to make an ultimate tow rig to tote around a 40 ft. TT across the country.

I like the Mega cab but no long bed, no go. I need my longbed to haul stuff...

I wish I had a long bed back...The maga cab is great but it would be better if it had the longbed option.

Note, some ranchers and farmers may want a 10 ft truck bed or longer,to haul feed without a trailer ,do you have a opinion on this ? CAB.

A 10' bed on a mega-cab would be too long for me. On a regular cab I could see it, however; Around here if some one needs that much feed at one time they either use a trailer or have it delivered.

When I think of a mega-cab, I picture a family of four travelling the country pulling a 5th wheel, or going to weekend rodeos pulling a horse trailer. Also keep in mind that to some families the work/ranch truck also serves as the family vehicle and needs to transport them comfortably. In these situations a long bed is preferred if not necessary.

I know several Ford owners that would have bought a dodge had the mega come with an 8' bed.

I like the Megacab with the longbed. If I could afford one, that is what I'd buy.

I think at the moment a Megacab long bed is a great idea. However, with a regular crewcab longbed supposed to come out in 2010, I think I'd buy the standard crewcab instead of the Megacab, unless pricing is more consistent. I don't think the Megacab would be worth the premium you pay for it.

I heard rumor that the 2010 crew cab was a mega minus the adjusting rear seats. and shorter cab. I know the back seats of my 03 are a JOKE.

I got a quad cab long bed, but wish I had the room of a maga...can't do a short bed!

I loved the backseat room of my 07 mega cab but really hated the short bed especially towing my fifthwheel camper. I bought the $2500 superglide fifthwheel and that alone filled up the bed...I love my new 2005 quadcab dually, plenty of room. Can even haul a sheet of plywood no problem.

Never understood anything but longbeds on 3/4 and 1 Ton trucks, just seems kind of counter-productive...but to each their own.

i used to drive a 99 F350 CC long box.

Then i saw the light and went with a cummins HAHAha. i bought a megacab, and had the long box conversion done to it. it ended up being 8 to 10 inches longer overall. the great think is that the dodge turns tighter than my old furd ( i think due to the leaf spring front end? i will try to find the pics to post.

Very nice, are you going to put the deck on the CTD? Yup, it was the leafs on the Ford that made all thse 3 point turns necessary!!![roll]

I can't wait. . . I think the Mega fenders still look good on the long box. I was wondering how that would look. THANKS. Who did your stretching ?

I have a long bed Mega Cab dually 07.5 and love it. I am going to be selling this truck in the near future because as some of you know, I change out about every 2-3 yrs. The next new truck project is going to be a 5500 C&C long wheelbase changed out to a Mega Cab...unless the 2011 offers it. I have to wait on the C&C because they dropped the Laramie pkg and I want the looks and changes they did to the 2500 and 3500 for 2010. I am hoping the Laramie will be an option when they change out the body on the C&C.

Long story short on the success of the long bed Mega. 137K miles and no emissions stuff. 42% improvement of fuel mileage, nothing big to report for repairs, excellent truck! I like the idea that I am burning 42% less non renewable resources without the smog stuff.

Mega Long Bed. perfect for my needs.

The last time I saw Kendall's web site, before it went down, they were asking5500 dollars for the Mega Cab Stretch. (Central Texas Allignment & Frame Shop)

When they first got started doing it, they were working with a Dodge Dealer in Lampasas, Tx called Benny Boyd. I heard you could order a new truck already stretched from them. Don't know how much the dealer charged for the service.

That could have changed by now.

long bed for me. mega is nice, but getting n/a w/ a long bed. getting to be kind of a long wheelbase, too. I like the 2010 crew cab long bed. 6" more rear seat legroom than a quadcab, 3" less than a megacab. I'm also stuck on SRW 3500. Want to be able to roll through the carwash from time to time, Triple A won't hook you if you have a dually. Single rear wheel, long bed, crew cab 3500 4x4 with a manual transmission and 3.42 gears. What are the chances of finding that on someone's lot.

I want the patent on it when you produce it b/c I've been thinking about this for years![laugh]...seriously
Take your longest chassis. CC/LB and make a reg and ext cab version for the ranchers and construction guys. You put a tool box and fuel tank in an 8' bed, you get a 4' bed.
Make single cab trucks with 10-11' beds and Ext Cabs with 9-10' beds you'll annihilate Ferd and GM in the work truck market.
Seems it would be cheap to do, not much tooling, just a couple different body mounts and longer fenders.

I meet a guy in Texas that had a conversion done by Bodyline, in UT.
He was unhappy due to "a bad paint job". Pealing after 6 months.
Anyone with a conversion of theirs that can comment ...either way?
