CD in NM

Does anyone know anything about the mod that was done to the front Mag Hytec Diff cover so the interference problem would be remedied?

I recall somewhere, someone did a pic and some measurements on the fin cuts, just can't seem to find it. Any help would be appreciated. My neighbor got on from someone on the net, low serial number, not sure what the line for the serial numbers were for those that needed modded vrs those that got factory modded? That would probably be a good thing to know as well, maybe his will not need modded. If it does need modded, he would like to mod it with all that's needed the first time, be good right off the bat at install time.
