lunker doing a howdy

well i've been lunking in here awhile, got some good info, now i guess it time to get active. my name is michael and i've got a 98 12v 4x4 to tug my other 4x4s around. it has had some pump/afc work down cause the tamper screw has been replaced, but i got no idea what. i just know it pulled well for awhile, then it started slipping in 1st and 2nd on the way home on day. a snap ring in the overdrive section broke, i found this to be a common problem. anyway, i've scored a 48re off of ebay, and a ford np271 from a friend cause the 241 is another story. the plan is to get them in and then some upgrades.

so that's my story and i'm sticking to it. thanks for all the past help and all the future help.
