Lukes Links....Good track bar fix?

I have a 3rd gen t-bar & DSS on my 99. My brother wants to upgrade his track bar, but don't want to do the 3rd gen because of $$. He is looking at the Lukes Links to install in his stock track bar. Anyone use them? Hard to install? Do they work? Do they last?

I had one a while back. It was a cheap fix that worked really well. The install is very simple and the directions are clear about it. If your tight on cash then I'd recommend it. Matter of fact when I upgraded track bars I put the lukes linked one on my buddy's truck and he's been going with it for the last 3 years with no issues.

Tell me about track bars. In the last few months I have developed wandering while going down a straight road. Can a worn track bar cause that?

Yes....it is the most common cause of wandering. Also bad ball joints, steering column lower bushing, steering gear box needs adjusted/replaced.

ya to fix that i would get a track bar front stabilizer. depending on how tall your truck is you are going to get a little bump steer because of how up the new track bar is goin to be i would get a better steering stabilization system also.

Well I am retired so money is alway a factor so I will try a Luke's first. Right after the South Bend clutch master/slave arrives and I get it installed. Anyone got a link to Lukes?

I changed out my original track bar fixed with a Lukes Link for a 3rd Gen bar. It's still tight after a year or driving! The only reason I changed it was due to tax money coming back and I wanted to rid myself of the possible problem child. The rubber bushing that keeps the grease in split when I took it out (from what I hear, an email to them will provide exactly where to get that "gasket" cheap) but I'd be willing to part with it for a minor price since I have no use for it anymore.

The thing is many things cause that symptom. It might be a good idea to get a diagnosis before you go throwing parts at it. More then likey its a combination of worn out parts.
