Lukes link or 3rd gen track bar?
I'm looking at doing some work to the front end of my wondering 97'. What would you guys suggest? Lukes link or 3rd gen track bar and retro fit bracket? I also need to replace my steering box, and am thinking of installing a DSS. Any thoughts?

I've heard nothing but good things about the Lukes Link kit. I have the solid steel 3rd gen track bar & love it, but I would probably just do the Lukes Link since they are way cheaper & working well. The DSS is by far the best steering mod for Dodge trucks. The lower column bushing fix is also a great mod. If you buy a gear box....make sure you get a 3 turn lock to lock instead of the 4 turn lock to lock. It makes these trucks a pleasure to drive.

the Luke's Link is like using a band aid when you cut your leg off with a chainsaw!
i spent the $40 on one, and a few hours installing it, and within 2 days it was back to the old loose track bar again, and i had it tightened all the way up to wear I couldnt adjust it anymore.

i like my lukes link but it only addresses one end of the track bar. the stock bushing mounted in the passenger side of the track bar isnt doing the greatest and i need to replace that as well to get it to perform as it should.
also, anybody else notice their luke's link rubbing slightly on the front diff cover? i got a 1/2" long shiny mark where my lukes is hitting...thinking about grinding a little off that side of the lukes but havent looked at that carefully to see how much material im allowed to grind.

The steering stabilizer/sway bar drop mount combo I made was the single greatest improvement to the factory steering design.... and I installed a track bar drop mount to preserve the stock geometry:

Solid Steel all the way. I have had mine on for over a year and 25000 miles with no problems. The way it improved the handling is not comparable. Also the 03 TBK works with Mag-Hytec pans..

That looks like some good work there! I am actually building one similar real soon with a friend of mine for his truck. He is taking the dimensions from mine & we are gonna build it.
