Lucas vs. Amsoil
Just a quick question on preference. Going to change the rearend and front end gear oil this weekend and have the option of either buying Amsoil 75w90 Synthetic or Lucas 75W90 Synthetic for my 04.5 Dodge 3500 DRW Cummins. Which do you think is the better oil?

Thats MR Hoss to you buddy!
In my opinion it doesn't really matter. You're going to change it again in 15,000 miles and it will be FAR from actually NEEDING to be changed at that point.
The last time I changed mine it still looked brand new.

Well, hanging out at BITOG has made me dislike Lucas oils. Their fuel and tranny additives are good-- but nothing else, imo.
I'm no Amsoil lover, but I'd choose Amsoil in this case for sure.

You will get better mileage and longevity with Amsoil. The synthetics lubricate better at the molecular level and offer less fluid friction which equates to less power drain. This comes from experience, not just the company line.
