Also could have used nothing and had no issues.Any one got ANY proof that these additives do anything? Like photos of heads off or using a bora scope and showing injectors and combustion chambers full of carbon and then after so many miles using Lucas or whatever showing all the carbon gone or something? yes I use some additive sometimes but never noticed a differance in nothing with or without using it.

I dont have a pic but you can call the shop where I work and ask anyone there what the S-60 looked like when we pulled the head off. (PM me, I am serious)
The crowns of the pistons were as clean as possible without taking them to a wire wheel. The valves had no deposits on the faces and the injector tips were clean. It had around 700k since the last overhaul.
I asked old Larry how much he used and he said a few glugs out of the jug when he put in fuel. (I know real scientific.... he is a 67 YO truck driver) I know that Friday nights he would pop in and buy a few gallon jugs of Lucas.
I run a couple of glugs every tank full also.

I think they say 3 oz per 10 gallons of fuel. The first time you use it put in no less then 12 oz just before you fill your tank and then take it on a 3-4 hour drive so that it can do its job. I use it one or twice a month in my wifes car to restore her fuel mileage. I also use it from time to time in my truck. The last time I did the calculations it paid for me to put 3 oz in her tank every few weeks to bring back the lost mileage. After the first time you should not need to use more then 5 oz per tank if you uses it ever 2-4 weeks. That is unless you get some bad fuel and affects your injectors. BTW where did you get it at and how much was it as I need to get some more.

lots of auto parts stores have it, even pep boys (i think it's around $10 for the 32 oz. size). i try not to mail order stuff like this, as ups once left a package containing a large jug of air filter cleaner and oil for my 2nd gen at my doorstep, with a slow leak. it was a PITA cleaning it up, and getting a replacement sent.

If I was paying 30 bones I wouldnt just dump in 1/2 qt. every now and then like I do now.

I know you can get it online from Summit for about $20.00 a gallon but they also want to charge you $9.95 handling fee then an extra $22.00 Hazmat fee. At my local Napa its $33.00 a gallon plus 7% tax. This is why I was asking Ian515 as we only live about 120 miles a part and I was wanting to see if it can be bought cheaper.

Hounddog, I'm with you. Show me some scientific proof of helping and I'd be all for it. My sig has never had anything but motor oil added to fuel with 221K miles, so don't give me the 150,000 badge for using snake oil. Brother has a 12v with 1,260,000 miles and no snake oil. Outlast that one, with your favorite additive. Think of all the money he saved by not purchasing the high value products. It also made it with 15/40 cheap dino oil.

I use it in my truck and it does what I want it too. I also use it in my wifes car and it does restore lost fuel mileage. If I buy it in gallon jugs its cost effective for me to use in her car 1-2 times a month. All I can say is to try it out and see if it works in your engine. To me its just like 2 cycle oil some see mpg improvements and some don't and some have problems when they use it and others do not. Being I don't have a big Lab to do test I can not give you the scientific proof you request.
