low end torque question

my 06 doesnt seem to have much power below 1800 rpm upper end, is great is there something I can do to get the power to come on around 1200 I have a smarty and Im running on three I end up running between 2000 and 3000 all the time or the truck drives like a pig I have checked for boost leaks found nothing. Is there any thing else I can do or do I just have to live with it? i dynoed it today 368 668

Try and download a wild tq man software, your clutch wont like it but it will run better on the better bottom end.

Shouldn't it have been higher on both the HP & TQ when you dynoed it? What's your boost #'s looking like?

Actually, for Smarty level three and nothing else... that is about right.

Whatever it takes to get Boost pressure up over 10psi and climbing rapidly at those low rpms - you need to note the Boost levels soon as you nail the loud pedal, compare how the truck responds at 0, 5, 10, 15, 20, etc psi, as rpm climbs - you'll quickly note that it is Boost pressure that makes power - early Boost is early power - not as easy with the manual trans trucks as with the auto trucks, as they can stage for power against the torque convertor load - you don't have that option unless you hit the brakes and slip the clutch till Boost gets up where you want it, then side-slip the clutch and brake and go - kinda hard to do with only two feet and three pedals - racers do it with an electric brake lock - step hard on the brakes, push the shifter-mounted switch which locks the brakes hard-on, hold it till you're well staged, then release the switch - very hard on clutches, btw

Sorry. I was under the impression he had the Smarty turned all the way up for the dyno.
