Loud

I have an 2002, 2500 and its the loudest diesel in the county, motor noise, I know 2000-2002's are loud, but is there a way to quite the motor, other than turning the key to off.

They are loud! My buddy has a 2000, and you can't even tell mine is running next to his! Embrace that, wish mine sounded that cool. Every time he comes over, it sounds like the UPS man is pulling up in front of my house.

Does your truck have the hood blanket on it? My '02 doesn't, but some came with it. Might want to see if you can get one, won't quiet the engine, but might make the cab quieter.

I heard if you wrap the engine and entire front end in bubble wrap it will help.

It can't be the loudest, you have not heard mine yet.

00-02 are loud no doubt but not like a 99 with straight pipe.

I love it when I pass people walking their dogs and the dog turns around a block away and barks over his shoulder, or maybe just glares at me as I go by. haha I love dogs so I'm really carefull not to smoke them however.

I have an 01 HO, and it's never pretty in the drive thru. It's just how they sound. Not bad in the cab with the windows up, AC cranking, and with some tunes on.

When I had my truck I would drive into drive-in's and leave my truck running. Then when they told me to turn off my "car" I would scream back at them "what" then they would say something else I would start screaming my order, they wouldnt hear me, then they would scream something else, and I would scream back and this would go on and on all wile I was LMAO, then when I would get my order I would complain that they got it wrong.

Ah the fun you can have with a CTD ram......LMAO

LOL .... i dont even stop at the little order sign thingy anymore i just pull up to the window where you give them money and order from there. One of my friends used to work at micky d's and you can hear the person ordering in the drive thru over a speaker in the "kitchen" he said it is very loud in the restraunt when a diesel truck pulls up.

Why would a 99 sound different than a 00-02? They are the same.

No offense, just wondering.

Changing injectors/ cam in my truck made the engine way quieter. It doesn't even sound close to your norm 24vlv anymore.

I love the way the 24v's idle - wish the 12v would idle like that.
