hey so I up-graded my injection pump to a stage 2. Idle pressure 20k plus. Noticed right away that the injectors are way louder is this normal?

TIA

please tell me your idle pressure isnt 20k. if it is you got some issues with the pump. and a modified pump will be louder than stock.

Double check the FCA electrical connection is good to the CP3. If so, the FCA is either defective or is stuck.

Your pressure is too high @ idle. Not good.

No way you got 20,000 psi railpressure at idle. A faulty FCA will send rail pressure to the max but you said Don ran them How are you getting that number? What gauge are you using? Yes with upgrade injectors it can be louder depending on what you had installed. What injectors are in now?

I was trying to say Hey Don, "I" ran the truck for an hour did I mess something up.

Rail pressure gauge Dipricol.
When I first fired the engine I looked at my pressure and it was over 20k. I was not sure if it was normal or not so I let the truck idle for a bit then went for a burn. Noticed right away pressure gauge was all over the place from 10-25k. Truck performed fine, and was very responsive.
All other areas of the engine seem to be in check i.e fuel pressure, egts, boost...............
So how do I confirm a have a faulty FCA, and in testing this what pressures am I targeting??

I'm running Flux 2 sticks

might have a sticking fca. here's a pic of it, the link to the CP3 mod page is the bottom one, with good pics and directions to ensure it isnt sticking, and how to fix it. the topic is for a mod, that wont do you any good since you have a stage 2, but the discussion on the fca sliding smoothly will help you.

man, you got 20,000 at idle, something is way wrong with that pump. Your idle should be 5-7 grand. Please let me know how it works out. Jay

I read 6,000 psi at idle, pretty solid. 20,000 accelerating pretty hard.

Remove the FCA and shake it. If it rattles the cylinder is sliding in the bore, all good. Next check the connection pins and harness. Finally go over the dipricol connection to the rail sensor. Something has to be wrong with the connection. Above all, don't run the engine if your gauge checks out correct and is not at fault

Pulled the FCA

shook it no rattle. Have a replacement on its way, I guess I will be more diligent when doing up-grades. Never thought to ask what kind of rail pressure at idle.
Hopefully I never ruined my sticks.
