Lost power at 2500 rpm

When i step on the pedel wot, I have plenty of power until I hit 2400~ rpms and then it just stays there for awhile, feels like it backs off alot, until it shifts finally, and then it hits the power again. What could be going on here? Any adjustments? I have a #6 plate, and I have adjusted the valves recently. thanks teddie

I had a feeling someone was going to say that I need a gsk, but it seems to be a problem that did not exsit and now does, is there anything that can aggravate it? thanks for the response,

its a combination of low timing that needs a bump...as well as the stock fuel plate as well as the stock governor springs.....sometimes taking out the slack from ur throttle cable helps alot oto on an older truck and it costs nothing..mine had about 1 inch of play...got under the go pedal , crimped it and immediately had a more responsive pedal and full travel returned...but the governor springs make a huge difference in driveability...absolutely recommend it

the hesitation at 2500 rpms i think is normal on the older 12 valves...timing advance and gov springs cured it...never adjusted anything else

You could also have low fuel pressure due to plugged filters or a weak overflow valve.
