loss of throttle
my friend has a truck at his shop, 2001 6 speed cab and chassie dually 125k. while driving down the road it just goes down to idle. it will come back, and it may run 3 miles and it may not do it or it might do it a couple times in a mile. any ideas? i have never heard of this, he checked out the foot feed and it seems to be working fine. so he is thinking the pump part of the fly by wire is going out. anyone heard of this before, it would be a shame to have to replace the pump for something like this.

Re:loss of throttle
I would check the apps sensor and quite possibly the vp44. When my 44 went out it would go to idle but it would only do it under certain circumstances.

I would say the VP44 is your problem. I just went throught this. You could try to recalibrate the apps. You might get lucky, other than that, new pump time.

Re:loss of throttle
Had the same problem with my truck, it was usually show up under light throttle and the truck would fall to idle after letting off the pedal and hitting it twice all would be good again.
Ended up changing the APPS and that solved the problem.
Good Luck
