So this problem had been present for long time and it keeps getting worse, truck keeps loosing rail pressure when step on the go pedal or going up a hill with cruise on. It keeps throwing the p0148 code. Keeps getting worse, would used to only do it when pulling trailer up big hill, now will do it on flat road under acceleration. Doesnt matter if smarty is installed or not, doesn't matter what settings. Pressure will go from 18k or so cruising and drop to 5500-7500 in just a second or two. I've been watching everyones threads with similar problem and think i might order the arson kit to replace alot of the possiblities, except for rail pressure sensor. But the truck has been having injector issuses as well, throws the p2146 2149 codes everynow n then. N just recently has started running idleing rough at start up then clears up. What i'm wondering if bad injectors could be causing this problem or the injectors are more likely bad electrics and the rail pressure is more related to the rail sensor or cp3 parts? any help ideas would be great. should also mention the the fuel psi doesnt drop when rail does, it stays around 17-20 so assuming filters on airdog aren't plugged

Two things you can do for free, check your rail pressure relief valve, cap it if you must. Re-torque all your cross tubes to 37 ft lbs.

I would do this first, then if that does not cure, you can start buying parts. If either of the two items I mentioned are at fault, the Arson kit will not solve.
