I got that clunking sound I've seen in several posts. Mostly when going slow, braking, and turning to the right. It feels like its under the driver side front end. Other than that, the steering is tight, slight wander that I assumed is normal from other posts.

When I checked under the truck, the only thing I could find that wasnt tight is the tie rods opposite of the wheel end. They are both loose enough to rotate about a quarter turn.

Are they supposed to have some play?

Thanks,
Bryan

They will normally rotate some as the steering is cycled. Watch the steering linkage as a helper moves the steering wheel back and forth, and look for side-to-side or axial (up-and-down) slop in the tie rod ends and track bar. A likely cause for your noise is loose lower mount bolts on the front shocks.
