Loose steering wheel

the steering wheel on my 2500 98 turbo diesel is loose and wobbly and sticks a bit. Took it apart some time ago and lubricated it but saw no noticeable problem. It has a tilt wheel. Anybody have a similar problem or know a fix?

extension

..hoping this thread can become about steering inside the cab.. (still for the 98 at least).. I know aftermarket steering wheels offer extension kits of 1, 2 and even 3 inches, but does anybody know of one for the stock steering wheel?
