looking for a good tranny shop in east tenn

I live in east Tenn between Knoxville an Bristol . Has anyone on here had work done at a reputable shop thats up to date an aware of the technology
thats discussed on this forum ? Or is a authorized dealer an installer for any of these name brand vendors . In Tenn or the bordering states . I just can't
seem to find anyone with a track record of doing these modifacations . I've got a 2001 3/4 with a 47re its not down yet but with 140000 i'd like to build it before it fails . I never have liked the mushie shifts an would like to have control of the TC lockup to stop the free wheeling at back road speeds .

I used to work in a trans. shop here in utah. It is an ATRA (Automatic Trasnmission Rebuilders Association) Member. They have a nation wide warrenty, and the shop I was at had very few returns (this is good coming from me, i don't like the owner for various reasons.) Also from past experience i have a hard time trusting shops with my truck, so i'll only go somewhere that will allow me in the shop to "watch" (more helping and learning if possible)

You can search for a shop here http://www.atra.com/source/amembers/...searchtype=reb

Any auto trans work i every need done in the future will be done by a member shop. They also have a good warrenty.

transmission shops

Thanks Cody thats good to know . I seen one shop on there that I have been told about . Like you I have trust issues sometimes the shop owner
or service writer is not the one who does the work . So if you are not allowed
to witness any of the work how do you know what was installed an how much paines was taken to get it right .
