Looking at a few 24v's

Im looking at a few 24v's here this weekend and want to know thing i should be looking for. Im not new to dodges but im new to the 24v motor. I have heard of the 53 block, and the lift pumps anything else?

I know the steering and suspension issues (unit bearings).

All the trucks are manuals and range from a 93k 02 to a 97k 99' and a 180k 99'

all are quad cabs and two are long beds one being a dually.

Any info is welcome!

thanks
-Mike

Bought my 99 new in January of 99 and absolutely loved it for the first several years. However, had I known about that worthless VP-44 pump and the equally worthless stock lift pump at the time, I would have turned and RAN. There are several sensors that feed the ECM that will drive you crazy when they go out. The APPS is subject to doing funny things like the 55 mph stumble which mine is currently experiencing and is about to push my last button. The 24 valve engine is awsome, it's just all the electronic garbage they hung on it to control it that is the problem I have with it. The steering can be somewhat weak and some require steering stabilizers on some and then there is the dreaded death wobble in the steering as well.

On the other hand, I know several people that have the same VP trucks that have had very good luck with them.
