What to look out for

Buddy of mine is going to be checking out a 99 3500 5 speed this weekend. Is there anything specific I should look out for on these 24v's that might give me a leg up on negotiations with the dealer? I'm a 12v man, so these newer trucks are different to me.

Do a search on lift pumps and #53 blocks.
Might set up a diagnostic test with a local parts store or shop to check for any diagnostic codes while on the test drive.
