Longer Starts
My '06 5.9 seems to crank a while before it fires. Not all the time, once in a while. Im running the edge and its not showing any problems. Is this something to be concerned about or not. Its spiratic and sometimes its cold and sometimes it may be all warmed up.

Nothing to be cncerned about, its just the computer trying to determine where its at in the timing/firing order. Closer to the timing/fire order means less cranking time, farther away equals longer cranking time.

there is a long crank tsb, with a re-flash that sometimes helps. it can also be an injector leaking down- for lots of people, the long crank issue was the first sign of one or more bad injectors.

Wouldnt if the injectors were leaking then there would be fuel in the oil? i have the same problem once and a while. when mine does it, usually it lets out a small puff of while smoke when it starts. nothing crazy just a little puff. ive had many problems with injectors. the dealer had to replace 5 out of the 6 injectors due to cracking or leaking, and every time there was fuel in the oil. maybe its time to just get a set of DDP's!

75bronco... hope these guys aren't scarin ya... as you described its sporadic, mine does the samething, its by no means injectors. If you have a leaking injector you'll notice an increase of oil on the dipstick or excessive smoke! Or you may notice a "knock". If your not experiencing any of these systoms, I'd say like mine its normal, goes with the computer controlled injection sequence.
