Longer control arms
Is there a formula or general rule as to how many inches of lift before you need longer arms. Also, once you need them, how much longer for how much lift? Example: if you need them after say, 4" do they have to be like 2" for every extra 4" of lift? Thanks!

The equation is very close to 50%. If you raise it up 4in, they will need extended "about" 2". I have 3" of lift and I got a price quote from a guy who builds them for me. He said I need 1 1/2" extended arms. I asked him to get me a chart to show pricing and length of the bars so that I can get them listed on my website, he should have me something to post soon.

I think your formula is way off.............. I have about 1/2" longer at 3" and the tire is centered well enough to fit 37" Toyo's.Now if you are talking about an improved ride due to longer arms and relocated mounts.............

It was no formula of mine, just passing on what I've been told. It is very possible that I am wrong, but 50% seems about right to me. I have 3" lift and a set of bars that are 1/2" longer & my tires about hit my fender on a sharp turn with 33" tires. I'm not even close to centered.
