I have an 06 2500 w/ leveling kit and 315's and am about to make a set of custom mud flaps. I know that I gained a few inches with the leveling kit and tires but I am trying to decide how low I can hang these custom flaps below the body panels without the risk of eating them up if I back through deep snow or mud. Any ideas? I was thinking 8-10"+-

2" is too long imo some trucks can get away with them. but not many

I got all sorts of technical when I put mine on. I put a tangent line on the rear tire that cleared the rear rocker panel. Then mounted the flaps so the bottom was on that line. This way the body of the truck is protected. My concern wasn't for trailers or the windshield of anybody riding too close to my rear bumper. Protect my stuff, let the rest fend for itself

Any problems backing over your flaps in snow? Thanks for the idea too.

No problems with them riding up the tires backing into snow. The truck is at stock height, so yours might be a little longer, but I wouldn't expect a problem.

The longer they are, the more dust they will kick up. Makes the tail gate dusty but you will not have to worry about tailgaters on a gravel road.

I have the same setup. does your front tires rub a little when turning? Don't pay attention to my Sig. I have a new truck 2006 quad cab 4x4 Lariat CTD 6 Speed, Same tire size.

My tires do rub slightly when I crank the wheel. I had hoped they wouldn't but it isn't really an issue until I have to pull a U-turn.
