Here is my truck, toys, gf, and even the dog both leaving and coming home. Had a great weekend even though it rained for 3 days.

Gotta love the old diesel, she got 14mpg loaded and the road was hills both ways into the mountains. My friend has a gasser [yuk] chevy, he got 6mpg and had to bring fuel with him.
Next is to add a sound system other than the old 5.9.

What's wrong with the 5.9 singing to you ???

My stack is right behind the passenger and when I open the rear slider ---

It's sweet music.......

Oh I love the sound of the 5.9 ... but the missus really does not like "Rattles" as I have named her. She says my truck is too "trucky" and rough. [laugh]

Getting ready to hit the road with mine on the 15th for the summer. Heading from Florida to Arkansas, then over to Dallas, then on to San Antonio. We are then heading on out to New Mexico for a while before returning back to Florida.

Looks like a nice Holiday Rambler ...
What is it - a 32 or 34 foot'er ? Bet she weighs a lb or 2...
How's the truck pull it ?

Yeah was gonna ask the same thing. How much does it weigh? I pulled my brothers 26 footer up into he local mountains here this weekend to see how my trans cooler did. It weighed like 7300.

How's the truck pull it ?It's a 32 foot and I believe the weight is about 8,000 lbs empty so probably around 10 to 11 loaded. It is the Alumilite so it is not too heavy. No problem at all pulling it with the Dodge though.

Define "no problems at all"

How fast do you guys go when you're towing stuff like this?

I could pull my brothers 7300 lb camper at 65-70 mph on flat ground. I could have gone faster if I wanted, but the thing has dangerous tires on it. I could pull hills at 60-65 mph. When I got into the mountains I had to shift down into 3rd. Eventually, altitude limited my speed to 50 mph with my injectors. I was keeping the EGT to 1225* or less. The max pan temp I saw was 180*.

Well I tow usually at about 60-65mph on flat ground and unless it is a steep uphill pull I stay in 5th gear and it will hold the speed just fine, if it gets too steep I drop to 4th and it will still hold my speed with no problem. I haven't had this trailer in the mountians yet but my old trailer was a 29 foot HR and I almost never dropped out of 5th gear unless I had to slow down. This trailer has about 2,000 lbs more weight though due to the slide out and it is a little taller. I will know soon on it as I am hitting the road on the 15th. I have the 5 speed manual transmission, yours sounds like an automatic so there is a big difference in power available to the rear wheels. I have never had a problem with EGTs but if I do I will just drop a gear on the hills.

Pulling that much weight up a mountain? What kind of cooler do you have?

I just had a flex-a-lite cooler installed. It has it's own fan. I'm not sure if the fan turned on though, but it's adjustable from 160-240* I also have a mag-hytec double deep pan.
