little help, did I drain the rail?
I know I need a rail guage, but today I was driving around 30mph someone Edited by Admin me off so I stomped her to the ground. First time I have done this since injector install, hit about 3200rpm before shift to overdrive then rpms dropped to 2200 surged up to 3200 dropped to2200. I finally let off the pedal, could 110hp injectors and Bullydog set on performance-90hp really drain my rail? Does that sound like the symptoms of a dry rail, seems to me about right but I have never had this happen before. No wierd noise no popping just rpm drop then surge. Guess no TST for me yet I think I need a rail guage and a CP3. Any thoughts on this would be great. Thanks Rye.

Im not that bright but I thought torque management was only at the bottom end from a complete stop, or in the low rpm range. I stomped it at about 30mph, and let off around 60 I guess, I didnt think torque management was a factor at speed.
I need to get this figured out so I can make my next move, TST or CP3 or springs and cam?

Hey Rye,
Was it for sure a surge, or did it feel like a stuttering, or machine gun style miss as it was still pulling really hard? I have experienced this in my own truck but it only happens when I am stacked and after it shifts out of 1st gear. It never makes any noises, it just misses after I've been on it for a few seconds.
I to need a rail gauge. I know my feed pressure never drops below 16psi.
I bought me a new ride to drive while I tear the truck down and do my cam, springs, a different cp3, Flux 2's etc. I just got my new tool to do the springs, looks like you could make your own.
Keep us posted, as I will too.

YOU NEED A CP3 UPGRADE
That is a good sign of loosing rail pressure. Yes most pop, but you have injectors, you are flowing way more fuel than the stock CP3 can handle, it doesnt matter if you put two FASS pumps on it, the CP3 just cant keep up.
I will bet you, you lost HP by installing injectors. You can make a lot of power with the stock injectors. They should be one of the last parts you buy on a 3rd gen.
This is one of the most common mistakes by 3rd gen owners looking for more power, they neglect the CP3. That is the weak link in high HP in a Common Rail Cummins.

I would say a Floor-it becuase that is what I have had experience with.
Get you a CP3 and step up with the big boys.
I would give Chris @ Relentless Diesel a call. You want big HP, hes your guy.
