limp transmission
I have been experencing the 1-2-1-2 shift thing for about a week. Reviewed lots of post and have ordered the pressure governor solenoid and transducer, trans filter and fluid - hoping to drop the pan and get it done this weekend.
Today the trans did not want to shift out of first. After a couple of red lights it would not go into first -starts off in second but still shifts to third. Lots of tc slip taking off. Checked codes and it shows P1762 and P1757 - is there a
code source somewhere that tells what these mean ?
Do you think a simple solenoid/transducer replacement is the answer - or do I need to get it to a tranny shop or dealer...
Thanks for any help.

P1757-GOV PRESS ABOVE 3 PSI IN GEAR WITH 0 MPH (DIESEL)
P1762-GOV PRESS SENSOR OFFSET VOLTS TOO LOW OR HIGH (DIESEL)
Replace the sensor and solenoid and you should be good.

Codes imply mentioned sensors are out of range for proper shifting. High uncontrolled pressure equals take off in 2nd or third. Continious low pressure equals no upshift. Complaint does not call for trans replacement or even overhaul. You might consider upgrading Valve body to a heavy duty or performance version.

Thanks for the replys - is the sensor part of the pressure governor solenoid or is it a separate item? I've read the TSB and orderded the soleniod and transducer - I hope it all in one.
I spoke to Dave Goerend about his valve body and he advised me to fix what I got unless I was going to drop the tranny and replace the 1/2 shift lever.

Fix what you have first before doing any other changes. You need a baseline of a working trans to start modifications from or you will never know what works and what doesn't.

Due to time and business out of town - I took my truck to local dealer - where I had bought the parts. Dealer called me just befor closing Friday - told me that the pressure governor / transducer would not solve the problem - said a "new" valve body was what I needed...
I told him to install the parts and if it needs an new valve body - I'll pick the truck up but I would not be buying another stock mopar valve body ...

Have not seen any valve body "failures" ! From what you described.....and the codes that were set.....you just need the Governor Pressure Solenoid and Governor Preesure Transducer replaced to cure the issues. Seen it hundreds of times.

Thanks for this response and I'll be pricing the parts out tomorrow when MOPAR opens it's doors.
