Limp split rear?
My truck says 'limited slip' and the rear chirps around corners, yet it won't do squat if one tire is off the ground? All I get is one wheel spinning and one wheel just sitting? ...........what's wrong? I thought these AAM's were lockers?

I tested the rear by rolling up on a small grade, crossing the truck up a bit. The right front tire started digg'n and the left back wheel started digg'n, the rear just wouldn't lock? I tried it in the other direction and all it did was reverse the action, right back wheel and left front wheel. Heck, I even tried it in 2wd.
......However, both wheels do grabb for traction on solid ground, just like my 01' PS.

Thats the down fall of the limited slip. Theres traction to both wheels as long as both wheels are on the ground. Once one wheel looses traction so does the other.

take the truck to a good differential mechanic and ask him if he can tighten it up. By stacking the clutch plates differently or adding too the pack a limited slip can be either tightened or loosened up.
