Question Like to hear from Banks sixgun-IQ owners 5.9

I am considering buying a Banks sixgun-IQ setup for my 07 3500 5.9 auto 4x4 and would be very interested to hear from anyone who is currently running this on their truck. Likes , dislikes and overall satisfaction. Also, The IQ has the ability to do performance test. Has anyone done these performance test 0-60, 1/8mi 1/4mi at each power level, if so what were the results? Many Thanks folks __________________

I dont have it, my grandfather has that on his 04, its ok for whay he does. But main reason on here many dont like it is the cost/power gain. You'd be a lot better off staying away from Banks entirely. He's had a lot of trouble with his, been stranded with it, taken it to Banks in CA, supposedly fixed it several times. I haven't run into anyone on here that likes thier stuff. That performance test, theres several things out there that can record and run that.
Thats what I've heard and seen.

Also, fill out your sig. and what other mods you may have. Tell us what you're trying to acheive by getting the banks, this way we can guide you on comparable mods, that will save your wallet and run a heck of a lot better thank the banks. All depends what your budget is. There's a lot on here thatll be glad to help out! That's how I got most all my mods and I love how my truck performs!

Thanks for the valuable feedback. My truck is approaching 36000mi. so btb warranty is over soon and its time to have some fun. Redge is a red lb drw 4x4 auto, S&B intake MBRP cat back so far. Not looking to make huge power but would like to make more power without sacrificing much reliability. We have a Lance truck camper and pull a trailer with motorcycles and ATV's. One reason I considered the IQ is that I can see it without my reading classes. Im still a kid at heart but at 52 my eyes remind me different. Reading glasses and driving don't mix well, I have tried. I am also considering the Edge Juice w Attitude CTS when it comes out. I know the Smarty is king, but I would like a unit with the gages and safety features. What do you know about the Juice/ Att CTS? Thanks again Jordon, for helping me to avoid making a mistake.

Are analog gauges out of the question??? Because for what you are wanting I believe the Smarty Jr would be prime with gauges. The power, reliability, and efficiency alone make it a winner. Just trying to help...

Well keep in mind, the engine has a 100k mile warranty on it still. I would def get a smarty, many many reasons, yes better fuel mileage, as well as 2-300 degrees cooler egts. And soo many settings for dif applications. You can buy a commander from quadzilla, that's a monitor with like 12 dif gauges you can display. If I'm not mistaken there's also safety features on that. I know edge has just a monitor you can use with safetÝ features, there's prob another one too. That's the route I'd go. But I like the analog gauges lol.

Sounds like I need to become more knowledgeable about the Smarty products before making my final decision. I plan to study their Web site tonight. Seems most agree the Smarty has the best performance offering for our Cummins powered Dodge trucks. I’m not against the Smarty and gauges but I do like the idea of buying one system that I install and have tuner, gauges and safety all engineered to work well together. Does anybody know if Smarty has future plans of developing such a device? If they did, it sounds like it would be difficult for some of the other brands to compete with. Thanks you all for your time and helpfull suggestions.

I have had a friend with Banks and had many issues as well. Did run well when working. I've had the Quad stuff as well, was a good pick me up too would recommend. I have Smarty Jr now and I really like it so far after 1 1/2 years and it does all I need. For me what it does for me while towing more then paid for it's self. Gauges are my saftey feature. Not that I have ever had to worry with Jr. Just my 2 cents

Or check out the bullydog products, they have a tuner and monitor with gauges and safety features. That's a good one as well, but I have not heard one bad thing about smarty, not one!

my buddy had one on his dirtymax. for one his egts read like 1400 degrees just driving slow. dont know why. then when he runs speedloader any other chip or programmer can beat him.

one good thing i guess is that is does not smoke like other chips of programmers.

its great to clear codes. although it caused his transmisssion light to come on all the time so he is always clearing codes.

just my 2 cents.

This is the good stuff. I'm sure you all know that reading all the mag's and the sells adds can be informative but don't compare to the real world experiences of the people living with and using this stuff. I have been lookin at bully dog, and I found out they actually have a try before you buy going right now. I looked at Smarty's Web last night and gain some understanding why they are the most recommended unit out there. I emailed Smarty to ask if they have plans to develop an all in product in the future. I just received their replay which stated.
Hello,
thanks for the suggestion.
To tell you the truth we are working on a new product that integrate display and programming function, but the product is not yet ready.

I will email back and try to find out what thier timing looks like, if I find out anything I will post it.

Sweet, yes do keep us posted on this, and for the ones that have the smarty, will they have to buy a new unit entirely or will they be able to use it with what they have? That's a good one to ask too. Yeah, the banks stuff is big on ellaborate stuff in mags and all, the one reason they can advertise like that is the money everyone spends on their stuff goes to promotion! lol. you can get a smarty, and get the Quad Commander, or Edge makes a monitor also, don't remember what it's called though. You'll cut down on a lot of cost rather than banks.
