The past couple nights driving my truck I have had the headlights begin to flicker on and off and then shut off all together. I wiggle and turn the switch on and off and they will come on for a second or two then shut off. With enough playing they will stay on for a short while. I replaced the headlight switch about a year ago. Is there a relay I should replace or just replace the switch again? Thoughts?

Not exactly the same application but I had a similar problem in my Toyota a few years ago. I replaced the brigth/driving dimmer switch and that cured it.

Just my .02 worth.

Most common prob is the multi function switch. Sometimes if you switch it back and forth in a rather quick/hard manner it will somewhat clean the terminals and live for awile. Not that difficult to change if you need to. It does require tamper proof torx sockets though...

Just replaced my switch a couple months ago. My head lights were the only thing that was constant... it was my clearance lights that kept flickering.

That little box isn't cheap, either. $87 at the dealer.

My fog lights started doing the same thing(part of the same switch). So I moved the fog lights to another switch, so now at least I know I will always be able to have some sort of light on if/when the headlight switch goes out.

The fog lights are not real bright, but much better than nothing in the middle of nowhere on a dark road.

There is a recall on the headlight switch on these trucks. Check with the dealer and see if it has been done on your turck. Might save you some. i need to take mine in and get it fixed. There is a recall on the throttle cable also.

The recall might help me too. On my '02 the dash lights and tail lights are out. Only thing in common I can see is the headlight switch.

Im guessing you checked the fuse for your tail lights? If that fuse is blown, it will kill your dash lights, as a warning.

Checked the fuses. But I wasn't looking at the tail light fuses at the time. Was just looking at the dash light fuses. I'll check them when I get home. Thanks for the tip.
