Lifting the front end (springs)
I have a thicker spring pack that came out of another dodge that i have, that i would liek to put in my CTD. It has twice as many leaves, and would hold the front end up alot better. especially with the plow. It is about 1-1.5" thicker than the stock spring pack.
When installing a thicker spring pack, how do i get around that stud that acts as one "leg" of a u-bolt next to the differential? Do they come out, and can they be replaced with a longer one? Where does one get a new stud, or do you just make it yourself?

When I got my truck, it had 2" blocks on the FRONT!! It was scary, so I changed them out with 2" skyjackers ASAP. The u bolts and everything were too long with the skycrappers, so I had to get 3 u bolts made. For the studs you are talking about, I just used some grade 8 bolts and torqued them down as much as I did the u bolts, to over 100 ft lbs. I put 500 miles or so on them, retorqued everything and everything was fine. I've got over 3000 trouble free miles on them so far.
