Lift pumps finally off of restriction

Our parts manager informed me Thursday that the lift pumps are finally available to order in with out calling tech line to do a "song and dance" to get them to send you one. One was released awile back, but now they are both available. Now if we could only stock a VP-44......I'm sure that will change too. As many know for a long time now dealers have had to have approval from big brother to replace these which has caused some unecessary down time. Of course that didn't keep a few techs from "aquireing" a spare to get trucks out the door! ;D

That's good news for those under warranty.
For the rest of us, the same pump is about 1/2 the price at any non-Dodge parts counter.

Re:Lift pumps finally off of restriction

I just replaced mine on sat. since the local dealer said it was fine when it only made 2psi at idle.Picked one up at cummins with 4 new banjo washers for 168.00 their warranty is pretty good 6 months unlimited miles free replacement. When this one goes and if my truck is still under 100,000 miles i will just change myself again since it took me less than 15 min. to due,if i let the dealer do it would take them 2 days.

Got to jeggs and order the 180-P4601HP. $85.99

http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...mp;prmenbr=361

it's the same pump but doesn't use the cheesy banjo bolts.

it comes with 3/8" npt I/Os. bolts onto the stock bracket and wiring.

When you do that order the earl's 12mm x 1.5 -6an filltings('weber' adapters summit# EAR-991944 $6.95) for the inj pump and filter assy.

by the time you get -6 pushlock hose and filttings you can rid yourself of all of your banjos, have new fuel lines, and a new lift pump for a little over $150.

Re:Lift pumps finally off of restriction

MARK-
i was wondering if you have done this to your truck?

if so, how much push lock hose was needed to do it?

and how many 12mm x 1.5 -6an fittings are needed?
is it 1 for inj pump, 2 for filter housing? and 2 3/8 NPT for the pump, or does the pump come with its own 3/8 NPT fittings?

i assume that the 12mm x 1.5 -6an are an on one side and push lock on the other side correct?

is the stock line from the tank 3/8?

just wanting to get the fittings right before i order

thanks
