I have a 2004 and pretty sure my lift pump is in the tank but ready that they did not install that in the tank til 05? Nothing behind filter canister? Looking to upgrade to an external frame mounted pump. Any suggestions?

Sorry, my computer keeps disconnecting on me. I think the LP would be about the size of a roll of half dollars located on the drivers side of the fuel filter canister. Geno's Garage now sells a stock replacement for it. Folks correct me if I full of it........they weren't around when I first replaced mine with the in tank model.

In 05' they went with the intank LP. If the LP has failed and was replaced under warranty on the 03' to 04.5' trucks Dodge replaced it with an intank LP underwarranty.

If you have no LP behind the fuel filter canister and only a gold anodized line with a bango bolt you have two choices. Find an orignal fuel filter canister and replace the one in your truck now with the LP or put in a draw straw setup or similar that is offered aftermarket.

Spooler, do you know if the fuel filter canister with the LP on the side of it is more expensive / more hassle than the $360 (parts) to replace the in tank LP? Does anyone know? I assume either one is still a problem at this point. I am thinking about a FASS or air dog now. I thought I saw a thread on installation guidlines for a DIY?
