I have a 3" lift and run 37's on stock wheels. I have minimal rubbing on the control arms. Wheel back spacing would be as close to stock as possible. XD has the best selection for positive offset. As for the lift I would recommend 6" but I have seen somebody run 4.5" with 39.5's.

As long as you get an axle forward kit you wont rub the rear of the wheel wells, but depending on what rims you get and the widt of tires, your going to need a certain backspacing. What size rim and tire do you plan on running?

Can you get the tire size you want at a reasonable price with 18's? I don't know, but my br.inlaw gripes because he has 18's.

The larger the wheel the more $$$ the tire is going to run you. Keep in mind that not all tires offer a E rated tire for all sizes either.
