leveling kit install without spring compressors?
Just finished installing my leveling kit. I'd heard you can do it without using a spring compressor. Let me just say, my hat's off to anybody that did it without a spring compressor. I couldn't even come close to getting the passener spring back in without squashing it with the compressor.

just did it w/o the compressor, kinda,i ended up using a small atv ratchet strap which compressed it just enough to get it close enough to the mounting pad so I could"muscle"it in with a BF prybar, not fun and i wouldnt do it again any time soon

I did mine without spring compressors. I think the trick was to get the truck fram high enough off the ground to begin with, I had no trouble whatsoever with that part. I also read everyone's install stuff thoroughly. It was a lot of work, I am glad I only did one. Best part is when you've tightened the lug nuts one last time with the tires on the ground and you're off for the first test drive.

Very simple very easy, I've done a lift both 2" leveling all the way up to a 6" on at least 8 trucks. Unbolt the anti-sway bar ends and the most important piece that will EASILY allow you to put in the new spring, spacer etc... is the TRACK bar.... unbolt the track bar at the frame (not the axle). This will allow the axle to move down far enough to place the lift in.

scissor jack is a good idea. I considered unbolting the track bar, but felt that a spring compressor would be quicker/easier. The parts store a couple blocks away loans 'em out for free.

One bolt at the track bar is much better than forcing things with a bottle jack. The axle isnt dropping because the track bar is binding on the frame. Forcing it with a bottle jack is not a good idea in my opinion. Spring compressor isnt a bad idea, its just that if you dont have one you have to go get one, when simply removing a bolt with a socket only takes a couple of seconds.

You are only removing the nuts on top of the sway bar links.Piece of cake.On the track bar if it doesn't line up,it probably won't,start the truck and lay under it and turn the steering shaft by hand until it lines back up,piece of cake also.

did one the other day without a compressor or removing the track bar. just unbolt the sway bar links and use scissor jack and they slip right it. if you have someone to help it makes it much easier.
