Leveliing kit and shocks

Okay, everyone tells me I need a leveling kit, so I may get one. I'll go ahead and replace the shocks while I'm at it. I dont know If I need longer ones for the frome after the kit. What shocks do you reccomend?

Whith the leveling kit your not extending your shocks any length so you use the standard length. IMO Bilsteins are the only way to go if you load your truck, if your running empty they are a rough ride. They will carry heavy loads and ride like a dream.

ds1rider,

Contact Coil Spring Specialties (www.coilsprings.com) out of Kansas. Tell them you want a 380 lb/inch spring rate (softer than what you have now) and about 1.5 - 2" of lift. They will need the part numbers off your current coils. I had 38/39 tags which had a part # on them. If you choose the Bilstein 5100s (made for the 2" extra), tell them that too. Mine sat a bit higher than expected and they believe the 5100s accounted for the difference since they are under such high pressure.

They are a great company. I had these custom coils made to my specifications and shipped to my door for a tad over $200. The combo of CSS coils and Bilstein 5100s is great.

That is what I did and it rides awesome! Would do it again in a heartbeat!! Now since you have a regular cab, you may be fine with 1.5" of lift. The 5100s will still work great for you. Mine sits level. I ended up with about 2.5" of lift which seems to be settling JUST a tad.

Don't bother with the D25s... they are cheaper, but then again... they are CHEAPer! Decent company Skyjacker is, but the CSS coils are definitely better. Talk to Cowhand about the technical details.

And I've heard... nobody will confirm it at CSS... but they did or do make the custom KORE coils. Shhhhh!

If you have any questions, let me know and I'll try to help.

Steve

No problem. Hope your as happy with them as I am.

One thing I will say... having the front end feeling as good as it will after the new coils / shocks really shows how firm the rear is. But then again, I'd love it if my truck handled more like a sportscar, but could still haul a house!
