Leveled 2WD Shocks
My truck has a 2.5" leveling kit installed and after I installed it I went back and put in the Daystar shocks that they recommended with the kit. These are already shot and I'm looking for a higher quality alternative.
What are my other options? I've looked all over and can't seem to find any other alternatives. They need to be at least two inches longer than stock. I left the stockers on when I first installed the kit and they were constantly bottoming out and blew out quickly. I drive a lot of rough roads and don't want a stock length shock. Keep in mind this is a 2WD truck. Thanks for the input.

Are you all happy with the ProComps? I haven't heard anything about them. I did call Rancho and was told they don't make anything longer for the 2wd trucks. I would be happy if I could find a Bilstein but I don't see where they make what I'm looking for. Thanks for your help

BILF4-BE5-6140-T5, thats the 5100 series shock that I found to work on my 2005 2wd, the only thing I had to do was put a long bar pin in the shock. Truck rode much better, for reference sake, the shock is made by Bilstein for the 99-04 Stupid Duty 2wd 4" lift from CST. Length is perfect and since is a slimmer body, it fits in the control arm much better than the EXP918515. Hope this helps.

Just realized that I wound up putting Fabtech shocks on the front end. I don't remember why but they do ride nice but it does take a while for the front end to settle after you hit a bump.
Blueburner the long bar pin it for the lower mount correct?

I think I'm going to try the Bilstein shocks that BlueBurner specified. Are the bar pins something I can get at a parts store or do I need to order them? Any guess on what length?

Finally got the shocks installed and new tires put on. I put 315/70/17 Wrangler Duratracs on a week ago and didn't get to the shocks until this weekend. The shocks make all the difference in the world! The bar pins were a bit of a pain to get through the shock bushing. I ended up rounding the edge slightly then using a vise and socket to push them through the bushing with a healthly dose of WD-40. Before I did this I had a hard time getting them started and even when I did the sharp edge of the pin tried to cut the bushing.
The number BlueBurner posted is the 4WheelParts stock number. The actual Bilstein number is F4-BE5-6140-T5. I ordered them from shockwarehouse.com for $75 each. For reference, they're listed as an off road racing shock. The box listed the Ford like BlueBurner said but I couldn't find them by searching for that application. I put the Bilstein HDs on the back part number F4-BE5-C605-H0. The bar pins he sent me were 3.5" in length and fit perfectly.
Thanks for all of the help
