let off the accelerator quickly and truck died...
i know ive read about others' similiar experiences....
last night i put the pedal to the floor to have some fun, but right after i started getting some speed i let off really quickly. truck went quiet and there was no RPM....it was dead. i coasted to a stop and could not get it started. i had fuel pressure but i couldnt get it to fire. i didnt try too hard for too long as its 20 below zero and i didnt want to overwork the battery until i get indoors...and i didnt care to crack injector lines in that temp either.
for others that have had this experience, was it just cracking the lines for fuel and it ran again? or something else?
only code i have is P0500...vehicle speed sensor...probably from spinning the tires. i do have a P1693 so i may have to get it to autozone to check what else is in there...if anything.

well, i bled the lines and it started again. it took considerably more time (probably due to the weather) than i expected but it finally got going and ran smooth!
thanks!! and hopefully this will help someone else in the future!!

mine does the same thing. It only seems to do with the comp on. It did it to me the first time and i didn't know what to think. A buddy came out and said lets crack some lines to see if we were getting fuel. Cracked a couple lines and it fired up. Was useing the comp at the time also and let off quick. Happened about 6 months later, same deal, comp on let off quick then died. Always have good fuel pressure. I've just leave off a little slower rather then just lift and haven't had a problem.

So the cause is?
Yeah my truck just did the exact same thing a few weeks ago when dialing up my edge. Any idea exactly as to what causes this and if it's possible to fix without spending too much. I have oversized injectors in mine but were in the truck when I bought it and don't know what they're rated at, given the difference between it and stock trucks i'd say pretty high.

I'm laughing because after the third time of bleeding the lines I figured how to "push start" it while coasting!!! I should have tried that the first time..

It happened to me in my old truck all the time. I had JR 200+ sticks in my '02. What is happening is you're letting off so fast is makes the fuel travel back out of the lines and suck. Kinda like when you turn off a bigger water faucet real fast and you hear the banging sound in the pipes, as far as I know.
