Lemon law criteria

Has anyone actually tried to lemon law one of these things, hope so cause previous case studies are helpful, I will be applying next week and could use a little help.
Only thing holding me up is a paper wait from the state of Ct. I have been informed by the state that my truck ( 2004.5 ram quad ) falls well within the criteria of the lemon under connecticut state law. I,ve 2300 miles on this truck and have been seeking a fix from week one when I first attemped a plus 60mph highway run and encountered that dam drone. I want my money back, and maybe even an apology. Your all very welcome to follow the proceedings and hopefully they wont make a fool of me. Any advice would be sincerly appreciated.

I had an engine knock in a brand new DC Jeep Grand Cherokee. DC tried to call it "normal piston slap". In Nebraska anytime a vehicle has gone into the shop for a fix 3 times without a cure it "can" fall under the lemon law.

I cannot stress what I am about to say enough, and I will only say it once;
Rule number #1. Get a lawer that SPECILIZES in lemon law cases.

Search the internet for lawers in your area that specialize in these cases. You CANNOT do this by yourself. You will waste your time and ruin your case by indavertently giving DC information that they will use against you in a court of law if it goes that far. You simply will not get their attention by yourself. Its a David and Golieth thing. A lawer knows how to hurt them you don't.

Your lawer (rule #1) should not charge you a dime up front. Any good lemon law lawer will take the case on congentcy. This means if you don't win you don't pay. You might ahve to pay filing fees or something, but just take my word for it. You will not win if you don't get a lawer.(rule #1.)

Now that you have complied with rule #1 DC will NEVER allow this to go to court. Why? If they go to court and loose they must brand the vehicle a "lemon" under the law and they cannot sell it ( I think). If they buy it back from you (which is what you want right?) they can resell it. If they buy it back your lawer (rule #1) will collect his fees from DC as part of the settlement.

I got the cost of the vehicle minus a reasonable rate for the milage I used. Loss of the vehicle, sales taxe, registration for the year, and time spent playing around with DC. When I was all done I got back $26K. I paid $28K for the vehicle and drove it 25K miles. They also got me a great deal on my 96 Ram gasser.

Granted you must have a case first, but if you abide by.... you guest it RULE #1 you will win or he will tell you to forget it.

This was my experience, and I won.

Check the lemon law booklet they gave you when you bought the truck. It has lots of info on the subject.
Also, check the CT state government website (perhaps Attorney General office). Lots more info.

Don't ask me how I know.

In Oregon, they have to make 3 UNSUCCESSFUL attempts to fix a problem, in the first 12 months or 12,000 miles of ownership.

Lemon

Had the truck in today for the sixth attempt to fix the vibration and had both driveshafts replaced with the part numbers of shafts in this forum. Still the same vibration and same speed. The mechanic rode with me on the test drive and felt the vibrations. I came home filled out the Lemon Law Papers and took them to the post office and sent them certified mail to Dodge. Lets see what this stirs up. By law they have another attempt to try to make me happy before the attorneys get the case. Tired of Dodges BS.

sixth attempt to fix the vibration
Msatow,

You are much more patient than me. I have been three times and am debating what to do.

The Dodge factory tech worked on it for about 6 hours on Monday. Made the vibration a bit better but still there and annoying as heck. He was great but I think the factory is hanging the dealers and techs out with no support. I feel bad for the guy; he's gotta face the angry customer (that would be me) and try to make them happy all the while knowing that DC has no fix.

I got the feeling that DC is not putting a lot of effort into a fix. I love the truck but I am leaning toward making DC take it back and get me another one.

We shall see...

issue on 03-04 (DR) 4WD models . Has anyone seen this besides myself.?

Star Center Documents

Sorry about that. That Document number pertains
to a star center bulletin addressing the vibration issue for 03-04
(DR) 4WD models. If you want it let me know where to send it.

I have been waiting two months for a response to my request for a buyback. (Mine has the Vibration, but I am seeking a buy back on for the bad injectors and faulty soft plugs that I was told by D.C. not to drive the vehicle until it’s leaky Soft plugs could be tested).

In most states three to four attempts are required, but Arbitration may be required if the Manufacturer requests it, or disputes your claim. You are required to notify the manufacturer’s Zone office in your location, but here In Oregon My paperwork apparently never reached anyone as I was told the address for the regional Zone Office in invalid as it has been closed for three years. The 1800 number I was given was changed to a 900 Phone Sex number. The main Customer Service office says they cannot process my request and claims to not have any information or addresses about who to notify or even a local address for the Zone Office the information included in my manual says I need to contact.

After four requests for assistance from the dealer I was put in touch with the Dealer’s 5-star rep. She claims to have delivered my request to some D.C. cooperate service rep, but no response from him either. I Would suggest you call the D.C. customer service number and file a formal complaint. Then contact your Dealer’s 5-star rep or the owner of the dealership, and try to locate the pone number of your zone office if you can get them to give you one. Confirm with them the address and send them the form in your warranty booklet and a formal demand.

After you do all that if you hear nothing from them in a couple of weeks I could contact your local Attorney General’s office and file a complaint with them.
