Is it legal ?

Had a friend call the other day his son has a 08 and was told by the dealer that his warranty would be void if he does anything to his exhaust!!! I told him as long as it is after the cat it would not,did I tell it right?

I'm pretty sure the dealer is reffering to anything that has to do with removing the DPF, voiding warranty

Any removal of emissions equipment voids the warranty. It's also against federal law. So even if you don't have emission inspections you can still get in trouble if your caught. I don't like the new emissions stuff anymore than the next guy and that's why you'll see me drivning an 06 for the next twenty years (if it lasts that lone).

I think the feds are a little to busy to be busting private individuals for whacking their cat/DPF off.

You can do anything you want *after* the DPF. But it's a waste, the DPF kills all the sound anyway.

I agree with t-boe, I will stay in my 06 as long as I can. No dpf or emissions bs.

I live in unincorporated weld county. We don't have emission testing here so were exempt. I like to smoke the inspection vans out though.

i used to work for cummins and it is agant the law to remove the DPF, but if you have a 07 6.7 and you thank you are not goin to have any problems with the truck you can take it off , it does not derate the motor just brings a light on, but truck runs normal and 08 and on, cummins fixed the glitch in the ecm. but you said you have an 08 so it would not be wise just stick with the 5.9 it way better
